Use case
Cafe table service from a QR code
A refill or the check, without a wave at the counter.
A cafe with a counter and a handful of tables still loses time to small asks. Someone needs water, a refill, napkins, or the check, and the person on the espresso machine does not see the hand in the air. A table QR code sends that request with the table attached.
How cafe table QR service works
- 1
Code the tables, not the whole cafe
Print a small sign per table. The alert should say which table, or the counter still has to go looking.
- 2
Guests request service in the browser
Water, a server, napkins, or the bill. No app. The bill request does not take payment, and the server request does not place a phone call.
- 3
The counter sees the table
The shared inbox shows the request. Staff mark it resolved when the refill or the check has gone out.
Service requests, not a second menu
ReferLift does not list your drinks, take a mobile order, or charge a card. If the cafe wants guests to order and pay from the phone, that is a point-of-sale QR, and the Toast comparison explains that difference. ReferLift is the call waiter button for the tables you already serve in person.
The plan is $39 per location per month after 15 days free. A card is required. It is the same restaurant plan as a full dining room, described on the restaurants page. A busy cafe does not pay per table.
Keep the counter human
People will still walk up. The QR sign does not close the counter. It catches the table that needs a refill while you are pulling a shot. Faster service here means fewer crossings of the room for a question you could have read. It is not a promise about review scores.
